Sow with Hope, Reap with Joy

Investing in our relationships is like gardening. First, we take the time to prepare the bed, spread compost and create the right conditions for growth. Then comes the time for sowing, planting and sprouting. When the first young shoots appear, we spend a lot of time weeding and watering to give the precious plants space to thrive. And eventually, the plants are strong enough to bear fruit – sometimes so much that we can even share some with our neighbours!
Every now and then, however, a snail comes along – and steals our fruit overnight. No matter how good a gardener we are, we cannot control growth and harvest. But the joy of every single fruit motivates us to start gardening again next spring – despite the setbacks. Sometimes with new ideas for keeping pests at bay, and in any case with plenty of hope for a good harvest.
For us, a Discipleship Training School (DTS) is just like a garden – a place where we invest specifically in people. In August, we’re launching our first DTS for married couples here in Hainichen. We’re currently busy with the preparations – we’re laying out the beds, so to speak. Two couples have already signed up, but we still have room in the garden.
You’re welcome to help us fill the beds, and pray that the bugs stay away so the harvest will be plentiful!
