Couples DTS

The Couples Discipleship Training School (aka DTS) is a 5 month long course that will take your faith and marriage to a new level! Deepen your relationship with God and your partnership with your spouse and serve others on your short-term mission trip abroad!

Are you ready to transform your marriage and uncover God’s purpose for you both? Do you want to be equipped to go to the “ends of the earth”? You learn with other couples from all over the world directly from the Bible from expert speakers. Together with your team you go on an outreach bringing help and hope where it is needed.

So what exactly is a Couples DTS?

The Couples DTS is a kind of bible school followed by a short-term mission outreach. It’s for couples old or young (without children) who want to invest 5 months of their lives into their marriage and into God’s kingdom. This course has two parts: Classroom phase (12 weeks) and Outreach phase (9 weeks) in Asia. The Couples DTS is in English.

We plan to have a few weeks of the Classroom phase in Asia! This means that you’ll get to not just learn about the people you’ll grow to love, you’ll get to learn FROM them! We’ll also make sure you have some language skills ready before you step on the plane.

Classroom Phase (12 weeks)

We have some amazing topics waiting for you to dig into. Our speaker couples come from all over the world, covering a wide range of topics and bringing in their own mission experience. Every class will give you time to process with your spouse what you have just learned. You'll also have a mentor couple offering marriage coaching, accountability, prayer or just a listening ear!

Outreach Phase (9 weeks)

There’s no better way to make lasting changes than through putting into practice and telling others what you’ve learned! Jesus said “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations... .” During this time, you’ll be working with local believers, supporting local churches, sharing about Jesus, and helping run one or more marriage workshops together as a team.

Costs (per person):

Classroom phase: 3.000 € (incl. course fees/material, accommodation, meals, snacks)

Outreach phase: approx. 3.000 € (incl. airfare to and from outreach location, accommodation, meals, local transport)

Not included: personal expenses, travel insurance, visa, vaccinations.

Deposit to reserve your spot: 200 € (non-refundable - this goes towards your classroom fees)

Scholarships may be available for couples applying from developing nations.

By the way: The DTS is a course within the University of the Nations (UofN). Successfull participation will earn you one credit/week.

Your school leaders

D.J. and Meike will be your school leaders. Coming from different countries and family backgrounds, they have seen and experienced both how challenging and rewarding a marriage can be.

They met on the mission field in Asia and got married there 12 years ago. In 2022 they joined YWAM Hainichen. Together with their three children they love adventures - and just came back from staffing a Couples DTS in the Caribbean! They have a heart for seeing couples find their own identity and calling, and have become trained as marriage coaches.
