DTS

Discipleship Training School (aka DTS) is an intense course that will give your faith a power boost! Learn from people who walk with God, enjoy living with other passionate followers of Jesus, grow in your calling and serve people on your short-term mission trip abroad!

You want to experience more with God, understand yourself better and make international friends?

DTS is not for everybody. But if you are hungry for more of God and ready to face a challenge, then DTS is your thing! You will grow in faith over the six months. Live and learn with others directly from the Bible and from expert speakers on topics such as discipleship, identity in Christ, and mission.

Together with your team you will go on an international mission trip and bring help and hope where it is needed. And you get to know people from other countries around the world.

Our discipleship training school is bilingual. Everything is translated into German or English.

By the way: the Discipleship Training School is a study course at the University of the Nations (UofN) and if you participate successfully, you will be credited with one credit per week.

So what exactly is a DTS?

The Discipleship School or better known as DTS (for Discipleship Training School) is a kind of Bible school followed by a short-term mission outreach. The course lasts about half a year and has been offered by YWAM (Youth with a Mission) for many years in many locations around the world. All DTS follow a similar pattern: a twelve-week block of lectures is followed by a practical short-term outreach in teams, which lasts two to three months and takes place somewhere abroad. All this time the participants live and learn together. Anyone who wants to continue with YWAM must first do a DTS. This means that after the DTS the doors are open to you in YWAM all over the world.

Unterrichtsphase (12 Wochen)

Unsere Referenten-Ehepaare kommen aus aller Welt, decken ein breites Spektrum an Themen ab und bringen ihre eigenen Missionserfahrungen ein. In jeder Unterrichtsstunde habt ihr Zeit, das Gelernte mit eurem Ehepartner in der Tiefe zu besprechen. Wir stellen euch ein (bei Bedarf deutschsprachiges) Mentoren-Ehepaar zur Seite, das euch Coaching, Gebet oder einfach nur ein offenes Ohr bietet!

Einsatz-Phase (8 Wochen)

Es gibt keinen besseren Weg, um dauerhafte Veränderungen zu bewirken, als das Gelernte in die Praxis umzusetzen und anderen davon zu erzählen! Jesus sagte: „Darum geht hin und macht alle Völker zu Jüngern, ... und lehrt sie, alles zu befolgen, was ich euch geboten habe.“

Ihr werdet mit Einheimischen zusammenarbeiten, Gemeinden unterstützen, praktisch vor Ort helfen, von Jesus erzählen und als Team einen oder mehrere Ehe-Workshops durchführen.

DTS is a super exciting and intense time that will shape and empower you in the long term. You will grow in many areas of your life through living together in the community, the teaching topics, the outreach and your times alone with God.

Eure Schulleiter

Doyl (USA) und Meike (D) kommen aus unterschiedlichen Kulturen und Familienhintergründen, und kennen daher viele Herausforderungen einer Ehe - aber auch die Bereicherungen!

Sie haben sich auf dem Missionsfeld in Südasien kennengelernt und dort vor 12 Jahren geheiratet. 2022 kamen sie zu YWAM Hainichen. Zusammen mit ihren drei Kindern lieben sie Abenteuer – und sind gerade von einer Couples DTS in der Karibik zurückgekommen! Sie haben ein Herz dafür, Paaren zu helfen, ihren eigenen Weg und ihre Berufung zu finden, und haben sich zudem als Ehecoaches ausbilden lassen.
