We Came To Be A Blessing

We’re in a small village square somewhere in the middle of Bulgaria. Loud, cheerful music is playing from a speaker, and a few adults are sitting on chairs that someone brought along. The children are jumping and dancing to the music. Life can be so simple and beautiful.

We know that we want to organize a children’s program to tell the children and their parents about God’s love. Everything else was still unclear beforehand. How many children will come? We’ll see. How long should the program last? We’ll see. I love outreaches like this! Because it’s precisely in those situations where we haven’t organized and planned everything that spontaneous moments often arise in which God’s presence can be felt.
And suddenly, well over 70 children are there, and we begin our program, which we put together in a hurry and under time pressure... After a few dances and games, we told them that we had come because our Heavenly Father loves them. We pray that they won’t forget God’s words and His love.
We came to be a blessing – and in the process, we ourselves were blessed. The two weeks of outreach went by far too quickly, and we’re taking home a rainbow of memories and encounters!
