A kitchen is more than a room for cooking.
We see it again and again: someone stands at the counter, cutting vegetables for dinner – and suddenly a deep conversation starts. Where someone shares what is really going on inside. Where prayers are spoken between pots and plates. Where tears can flow and hugs are normal.
Our kitchen is that kind of place. A place where people love to work, because it’s about more than food. And that’s exactly why we need it to stay functional.
The problem: After more than 30 years, our kitchen equipment is slowly giving up. The burners ignite unreliably and only with a lot of encouragement. At big events like our Freundefest we have to get very creative to handle the amount of food. The combi steamer, which we took over second hand many years ago, sounds like a moped.
But it’s not only about comfort. When we invite 200 guests to a Family Day, our staff should be able to focus on the people – not fight with broken equipment.
What we need: a new cooking island with professional appliances. A stove we can rely on, a tilting frying pan, and a new combi steamer. Equipment that can handle large groups. This requires renovation work – new pipes and a new floor with a drain.
In total we estimate about 20,000 euros.
Why we are asking now: because we just experienced how God provides through you. Recently we completely renewed our dishwashing kitchen – 6,000 euros, covered by your donations. That gave us courage to take on this bigger project too.
A new kitchen means: students get a warm meal after a long day. Families come together at events. Staff members have a workplace that matches their high level of commitment.
