On Saturday, August 31, we had an amazing atmosphere as about 150 guests and 130 “Friends” (participants of the Freundefest Weekend) brought our grounds to life. Many families enjoyed the various activity stations of the Family Inspiration Day, but that was just the beginning. Visitors were treated to a vibrant program packed with highlights: a large bouncy castle, creative hair braiding, personalized T-shirt design, engaging talks, and introduction sessions about YWAM Hainichen. The band “David but not David” provided a musical highlight with their newly arranged psalms. There were also delicious discoveries to be made: thanks to our Von-Anfang-An program, we were able to invite many asylum seekers to spoil us with traditional dishes from their home countries.
In the evaluation round with the staff, it quickly became clear: it was surprisingly easy to have deep conversations with strangers—exactly what we had hoped for! To truly get to know YWAM, it’s not enough just to see the buildings or photos. It’s the personal interactions, encounters, and conversations that define YWAM Hainichen—and these moments were what made the day so special. We hope to deepen the new relationships soon!
