Many familiar faces at the Friends Festival

The weekend we look forward to every year has not disappointed us this year either. The mix just works: To have time for people who are important to us; a relaxed and familiar atmosphere and high-quality spiritual input with depth.

Even though the long heat wave had come to an abrupt end just on the last weekend of August and it sometimes even rained a little, it didn't do the weekend any harm. But Johannes Braun's lectures were all the hotter: how can we rekindle the fire for God in ourselves and our churches? What is stopping us from being bearers of God's presence? How could our life look different if we were really "on fire" and not only cultivated a pious but lifeless lifestyle? For honestly, we all long for more, don't we? In all our search for our place in the world, our very first calling is to Jesus Himself. This "awakened lifestyle" was the subject of four sessions full of inspiration, challenge and a few moments of "aha!".

During common meals, coffee or at the cosy campfire there was a lot of opportunity to talk about what we heard or to bring each other up to date about what is going on back home.

We were particularly pleased that some of the former DTS participants had made the very long journey to celebrate a reunion this weekend. Even from Switzerland a family had come!

If you couldn't be there this year, you are invited for next summer. Always on the last weekend of August. 2019 is even a special occasion: we turn 25! So until the next friends party!
